Looking Forward to our 2025 Fall Season

September 3, 2025

As the trans-Atlantic partnership continues to traverse new challenges and opportunities, we reinforce our commitment to community building. In the spirit of fall, we hope to harvest collective insight and understanding through our upcoming panel discussions, film screenings, and food tastings. Here is a selection of what we have in store:

Getting a running start, on September 18, we will kick off our fall season with our first ever Sports event, Balancing the Game: The Fine Line of Sports Diplomacy. In this all-star panel discussion, we will explore how the developing field of sports diplomacy supports international goodwill, cultural exchange, and shared values through political, economic, and athletic lenses.

Climate and Architecture remain high on our agenda. In partnership with Impact Hustlers, we will host the fireside chat Roadkill: Unveiling the True Cost of Our Toxic Relationship with Cars on September 25. On October 15, alongside architectural firm vonDalwig, we will ask questions about creating truly livable spaces that are not only affordable and functional, but also joyful, safe, and sustainable.

As we continue Let’s Talk Democracy, our trans-Atlantic dialogue series in collaboration with the American Council on Germany and the Goethe Institut New York, we are looking forward to discussing how new technologies, social media bots, and cyberwarfare influence public perception, political stability, and democratic resilience on October 1. Later in the fall, on November 18, we will discuss how diplomacy and the rule of law can be strengthened so that “might makes right” does not overshadow efforts toward peace, justice, and stability.

We also dive again into the role of art in our societies with the screening of the newly released acclaimed German documentary Go Clara Go on November 4 with the director present. How can art push the boundaries of what may be said or seen — in defiance of, or perhaps inspired by, political resistance?

In many of our events, we will investigate the unique role language plays in shaping individual and collective identities. On October 21, we will explore language through analyzing bilingualism and its neurological benefits with Pine Street School and German School Manhattan. To celebrate the approaching holiday season, on December 2, we navigate the depths and themes of the Grimm Brothers’ fairytales with our co-hosts UA RUHR by eating our way through a curated menu inspired by Hansel and Gretel alongside a live reading of the tale.

Stay connected with us as we continue our programming and explore new venues. We are deeply thankful to our partner organizations for generously opening their exciting spaces to us while 1014 Fifth Avenue undergoes renovation.
