1014 held 18 events between February and June, covering a large range of topics and formats, including a performance of Berlin-based Ukrainian artist Anton Kats alongside performers from New York. More than 800 audience members came to 1014 Fifth Avenue!

Grounded Outer Space People is in residency at 1014 in June 2023. This nomadic music ensemble and artist residency is conceived by Berlin-based artist Anton Kats and is orchestrated by the semifictional musician and storyteller ILYICH.

Amidst an era of increasing polarization, the Walter de Gruyter Foundation and 1014 launch a new transatlantic event series to take a closer look at some of the controversial terms that deepen the divides in our societies. With eight episodes over two years, Humanities for Humans strives to generate a better understanding of what the humanities are and what role they can play in today’s complex world.
