Exciting Progress at 1014 Fifth Avenue!
June 6, 2025

We are excited to share a major milestone in the transformation of 1014 in New York: the building has now been fully dismantled on the inside, paving the way for inspiring spaces to come!
An emotional moment in the process so far was the careful removal of the beautiful wood paneling from our Auditorium. The paneling will be meticulously refurbished and lovingly reinstalled in the new design — honoring the past while stepping boldly into a vibrant next chapter.
Big things are also happening above and below: Between the third and fourth floor, ceilings are being taken out to make way for a stunning two-story Common Room that will connect the private quarters of our future fellows with the public areas — a light-filled, welcoming space for conversation, creativity, and exchange. In the basement, a bike cellar is taking shape, making it easier (and greener!) to get to 1014.
Meanwhile, at the back of the building, a wall has come down to even out the rear façade — a key move that opens up more space and brings clarity and cohesion to the overall structure, boasting a new terrace and a new, larger garden space.
Every step brings us closer to a new 1014: open, dynamic, and designed to bring people and ideas together.
Stay tuned — the transformation is just beginning!
